Dental Bridges in Modesto, CA

Replace Missing Teeth and Bring Back Your Smile

A dental bridge literally bridges the gap where a tooth used to be. Crowns placed on the teeth on either side support a natural-looking replacement tooth in the middle. Unlike a removable partial denture, a bridge is cemented in place, so it feels secure every day.

Why Replace a Missing Tooth?

A gap affects more than appearance. Neighboring teeth slowly tip into the space, the opposing tooth can drift, and your bite can change. Chewing on one side puts extra stress on the remaining teeth. Replacing the tooth helps keep everything stable.

Bridge or Implant?

Both are excellent fixed options. A bridge is usually faster and doesn't involve surgery, but it requires reshaping the neighboring teeth to hold crowns. An implant replaces the root as well as the tooth and leaves neighbors untouched, but it takes several months to complete. Dr. Kaur will walk you through the pros and cons for your situation.

What to Expect

At the first visit the supporting teeth are numbed and shaped, impressions are taken, and a temporary bridge is placed. When your custom bridge is ready, usually in about two weeks, we check the fit and bite and cement it in place. Special floss threaders or a water flosser help you clean under the replacement tooth.
